World National heritage in Japan (1/2)
There are 4 national heritages in Japan. Each of them are so beautiful.

1. “Shiretoko”(知床) is located in north part of “Hokkaido” prefecture. It was registered in 2005.
The reason why “Shiretoko” became the world national heritage is that it is located in the southernmost point of Northern Hemisphere which drift ice is landed. So, there are multifarious ecosystems in this place. Also this is the place where the rare species are living.
“Shiretoko” is formed by the submarine volcano and land volcano activity. The ecosystem is united by river, forest, and the sea.

2. “Shirakami-Sanchi”(白神山地) is located in “Aomori” prefecture and “Akita” prefecture. It was registered in 1993.
The reason why “Shirakami-Sanchi” became the world national heritage is that there is large scale of primeval Japanese Beech Forest. It is formed by sedimentary rock and lava. There are also many kinds of animals and plants are existing.
