Tottori prefecture 鳥取県
“Tottori” prefecture is located in Chugoku region. A sand dune is the highlight of “Tottori” prefecture.
DESCRIPTION
“Inba umbrella dance”
This is a traditional dance which is danced from the Edo period. When there was a drought in the Inba area, an old farmer danced holding an umbrella and prayed for rain for three days. From this dance, it rained but the old farmer died. To appease the spirit, it is still dancedd by the people of this region.
“Sand museum”
This museum’s art is all made of sand which is made by artist from the world. Every year, the art is renewed, so it closed in spring. So every displayed art is different and only can be seen on that year, which is quite unusual.
