Omochi お餅 (Japanese rice sweets)
“Omochi” [お餅/おもち] is the “rice cake” which is indispensable for Japanese annual events.
DESCRIPTION
“Omochi” is the oldest food same as rice for Japanese. How to make “Omochi” is to steam sticky rice and pounded with a pestle, then mold it.
There are many ways to eat “Omochi” and it is also the food which offered to gods.
THE VARIATIONS
“Daifuku-mochi” “Ohagi”
“Daifuku-mochi” is the “Omochi” which stuffed with bean jam, and the “Ohagi” is the “Omochi” which covered with bean jam.

“Dango”
“Dango” is the rice dumpling stuck on a stick, and there are many kinds of seasoning.

This is the food which mixed the rice boiled with red beans. It is mainly eaten in the festival and auspicious.
