Nagano prefecture 長野県
“Nagano” [長野/ながの]prefecture is located in Honshu island.
“Nagano” prefecture is also called “Shinshu”.
It is the former name of “Nagano”.
“Nagano” is inland prefecture, so there are many mountains.
The 18th winter olympic was held in 1998.
The soba that is made and eaten here is called [Shinshu-soba].
It is only called like this when 40% of the ingredient is soba-ko. The shape we see nowadays, originally came from Shinshu area.
This is one of the greatest Buddhist temple in Japan.
Every seven years, the statue of Amitabha is opened to the public.
A giant pole is built in front of the temple, which you can obtain the same blessing as to touch the statue of Amitabha.
This spring, it’s opened to the public.
