There are many historical shrines and temples in Kamakura city.
HISTORY
Kamakura city 【鎌倉市/かまくらし】was one of the important political place, same as Nara and Kyoto.
Here is the place, where the samurai Administration “Kamakura Shogunate” was started.
Nowadays, Kamakura is the famous sightseeing place at Kanagawa prefecture.
HIGH LIGHT
【Eno den】
“Eno den” is the railroad that connect “Fujisawa” and “Kamakura”.
Each station of “Eno den” are famous tourist spot, so you can enjoy many famous tourist spot to use “Eno den”.
You can ride on “Eno den” from “Fujisawa” station (JR Tokaido line) or “Kamakura” station (JR Yokosuka line).
Both station take about an hour, so it is easy to visit.
【Daibutsu】
“Daibutsu” is the great statue of Buddha.
“Daibutsu” in Kamakura is one of the famous one in Japan.
Contributions of “Daibutsu” was began in 1252, and construction took several decades.
The height of “Daibutsu” is about 11 meters and the weight is about 121 tons.
You can get into “Daibutsu” , so you can see the structure of “Daibutsu” from inside.
【Tsurugaoka hachimangu】
This is the shinto shrines which was started from 1063.
It is designated as historic site.
The highlight of “Tsurugaoka hachimangu” are “Ooishidan”, “Taikobashi” bridge and “Genpeiike” pond.
