Okonomiyaki お好み焼き (Pancakes)
DESCRIPTION
“Okonomiyaki” [お好み焼き/おこのみやき] is the Japanese grilled dish, which use flour and egg.
In generally, we eat with thick seasoning sauce, green laver and dried bonito.
“Okonomiyaki” is easy to cook, so there are eat willingly at domestic, specialty shop and in festival.
It can buy in ¥500-1,000.
HISTORY
Originally, “Okonomiyaki” was made by Senno-Rikyu whose famous at master of tea ceremony in Azuchi-momoyama period (1573~1603).
At Kanto religion, the origin of “Okonomiyaki” was called “Monjayaki”.
When it spreaded to Kansai religion, they added the more flower to carry them easily, and it became the “Okonomiyaki”.
In this reason, “Okonomiyaki” is known as Kansai religion food.
KINDS
“Okonomiyaki” have many variations.
There are many flavors, depend on the religion.
