Iwate Prefecture 岩手県
DESCRIPTION
Iwate prefecture is the largest prefecture in “Honshu” and also the second largest prefecture in Japan.
There is a “Hiraizumi-Konjikidou” which registered as a world heritage list.
Prefectural seat is “Morioka” and it takes about 2 hours from Tokyo.
It is rare prefecture, because there are two world heritage, “Hiraizumi” and “Hashi-no-Kouroato” (Heritage of Industrial Modernization)
Also it is famous for noodle, so there are three big famous noodle called “Morioka-reimen”, “Jya-Jya-men”, and “Wanko-soba”.
Collectively called “Morioka-Sandai-men” (Morioka three big noodle).
FOOD
【Morioka-reimen】
It is introduced from North-Korea in 1954, and arranged by Japanese.
The feature of this is chewy noodle and cold soup with Korean pickles.
It is popular to eat with “yakiniku” (barbecue).
【Jya-Jya-men】
It is the noodle with cucumber, leek, and strong flavor black “miso”.
If you want to eat in specialty store, you need to wait for over 30 min in line.
【Wanko-soba】
This is one of the food fight that how many bowls can you eat.
10 bowls equivalent to the ordinary “soba”.
In generally, women eat 30 bowls and man eat 60 bowls.
The record is 645 bowls.
CONSTRUCTION
“Hiraizumi” is the city to make known Japan as “golden country of Jipang”.
Also famous as the building, which “Lupin III” enter to steel.
