There are some famous food and place in “Fukuoka”, so I’ll introduce you some.
“Tonkotu-ra-men” (soup made from pork bone)
This city is also famous for ra-men. The soup is made from pork bone, and the noodle is thin, so it usual to order another plate of noodle. You call this “Kaedama” in Japan. The price is cheap, so you don’t have to mind about the money.
There is a street with many ra-men stalls, and the atmosphere is very peculiar.
“Mentaiko”
This is a cod fish egg with is pickled in red pepper based sauce. It goes very well with rice. Why it’s popular in “Fukuoka” is that in old times, this region had trade relations with Korea. To tell you the truth, this food originally came from Korea.
“Yanagawa”
In the old times the feudal lord who owned the castle and this area, made many canals to prosperity this area. You can raft the canal and see the traditional buildings and atmosphere.
